before you dive in

there are a few things that you should know or understand; the principles (fundaments) of the Q-platform.

The overall usage

Using Q-hubs requires additional information to be provided for proper use. When transport orders are created, the delivery address will be the selected Q-hub, but this is not the final destination. Since most deliveries are to inner-city addresses, an extra address must be included.

Additionally, the delivery date at the Q-hub may differ from the final inner-city delivery date, as we only deliver the products needed for that day.

Lastly, your inner-city deliveries will be "cross-docked" – meaning only the items required for a specific project and delivery date will be grouped and delivered.

We may also need to include your requested added services, such as composite articles, to your delivery.

pick the right role

the roles

In the Q-portal, there are several distinct roles, each with its own specific responsibilities. You can take on multiple roles or even switch between them.

The roles are:

CLIENT:

A client is a party that places orders and provides instructions to the supplier regarding delivery locations and schedules. For example, a construction company ordering bricks from a supplier for delivery to a building site. In this case, the construction company is the client, and the brick company is the supplier.

SHIPPER:

A shipper is a company that needs to transport products. They either have a contract with a carrier or arrange for one to handle the collection and delivery.

CARRIER:

A carrier is a company that specializes in collecting and delivering goods as part of its business.

Role Switching or Combining Roles:

- A shipper may operate its own transportation, in which case it also serves as the carrier.
- A client may hold inventory or own equipment that needs to be transported. In this situation, the client is also acting as a shipper. If the client uses their own transport, they also take on the role of carrier.

easy

free to use

Using the Q-platform is simple. You can opt to use the platform manually, which is recommended for occasional orders to access the Q-hubs.

Clients must provide their Hub code to ensure proper handling of deliveries at the Hub.

Shippers (product suppliers) should create transport orders as usual. The client will supply the Q-Hub address for delivery, along with the Hub code.

There's no need to create transport orders twice (unless you prefer to); we will forward the order to the carrier of your choice. You can also log in to our Q-TMS to track all logistics until the delivery reaches the Hub.

Carriers don't need to take any additional action. We will notify you of new orders via your preferred method (email, Excel, or TMS integration).

one-time-fee

Integration

If you frequently need access to Q-hubs, you can integrate the Q-platform with your business software.

We offer predefined integrations (XML, API) for various software types. Clients can integrate their ordering systems (ERP, accounting) or even BIM with the platform.

Suppliers can also connect their ERP, accounting, and/or TMS systems to the Q-platform. This integration applies to all logistic movements. To automatically receive Hub codes from clients, suppliers need to integrate with the client’s ordering system (ERP, accounting).

Carriers can integrate seamlessly. We use the OTM system and offer standard APIs for the most common TMS solutions.
